About the Vantage group and our northwest hotels:  

Cook up something great with The Vantage Hotel Group - 12 community loved pubs across Tasmania, which are a part of Federal Hospitality, Tasmania's largest private employer.  Right now, our Northwest locations are on the lookout for experienced casual chefs to join the team!  

Where do we cook up?  

• Hotel Federal – Wynyard  

• Molly Malone’s – Devonport  

• Mackey’s Royal Hotel – Latrobe   

• Furner’s Hotel – Ulverstone  
   

What you can expect in a day in this role:  

We are looking for positive, confident, and passionate qualified Chefs to join our teams on a casual basis. Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and under the supervision of the Head Chefs, you will be responsible for a variety of culinary tasks, including but not limited to: 

• Food preparation for customers 

• Upholding food health and safety compliance 

• General cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen areas 

• Menu planning with Head Chefs 

• Assisting with inventory and ordering 

• Assisting with cost management 

What you will bring to the role: 

Successful candidates will have a trade qualification (Cert III in Commercial Cookery) alongside: 

• A passion for food, coupled with a dedication to providing exceptional service 

• Previous experience in pub/bistro-style dining (preferred but not essential) 

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills 

• The ability to work under pressure and multitask in a busy kitchen environment 

• Reliability and flexibility, with a commitment to working a variety of shifts, including day, night, and weekend shifts. 

An appointee to this role may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks.
