What you can expect from a day in this role: 

As our Maintenance Manager, you’ll take ownership of the upkeep and presentation of Saffire Freycinet and Churinga, our staff accommodation. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide a skilled Maintenance team to ensure every room, suite, public area, and outdoor space is maintained to the highest standard. From managing daily operations to responding to urgent requests, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:  

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Maintenance team, ensuring property presentation is second to none
• Schedule and complete general and preventative maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plastering, painting, basic plumbing, and fixture adjustments
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and communicate outcomes
• Inspect completed works and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with Form 46 and other obligations such as water testing, offsite plant, and staff accommodation
• Negotiate and manage contractors to deliver compliant, efficient work within budget.
• Act as the first point of contact for emergency maintenance issues
• Oversee recruitment, rostering, and performance management for your team
• Monitor budgets and KPIs, ensuring accurate reporting and achievement of targets

• Contribute to, and report on all dimensions of budget and KPIs to ensure timely and accurate data, effective controls and achievement of targets 

What you will bring to the role:  

• Proven maintenance experience in a hospitality or tourism environment, including Essential Building Services programs
• Strong leadership skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing team performance
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
• Outstanding time management and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
• Demonstrated experience working within budgets and achieving targets
• High-quality workmanship and exceptional attention to detail
• Current C Class driver’s licence
• Trade qualification preferred but not essential
• Additional licences highly regarded: Working at Heights, Chainsaw, Horticulture, Asbestos Awareness
