Why chose Federal Group as your next employer?

Australia’s smallest state is booming, and the Tasmanian tourism and hospitality industry is right at the forefront. Here at Federal Group, we not only operate Wrest Point and Country Club Tasmania Casino & Resorts, award-winning hotels MACq01, Saffire Freycinet and Henry Jones, we also own Vantage Group which has 12 community hotels across Tasmania. While each of our business units has its own iconic brand and signature products and experiences, together they represent the very best of Tasmania and share one goal - to deliver excellence in all that they do.

We’re excited to introduce a key role within our People & Culture team: Learning & Development Coordinator. This position plays an essential part in keeping learning running smoothly across our multi-site operation, ensuring our people are supported, our systems are accurate, and our programs are delivered with consistency and care.

If you thrive on organisation, love bringing structure to moving parts, and enjoy being the 'go-to person' who keeps things on track, this could be the opportunity for you.

What does this role involve?

Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, you’ll provide the coordination and administration backbone for Learning & Development across Federal Hospitality.

Working closely with operational leaders, People & Culture, Talent Acquisition and external providers, you will:

  • Coordinate end-to-end learning delivery across multiple sites, including scheduling, enrolments, communications, venues and session readiness

  • Maintain the Learning Management System and training records with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance

  • Monitor mandatory training completions and escalate gaps or risks

  • Support external providers and facilitators with logistics, materials and delivery support

  • Set up feedback surveys, consolidate results and prepare participation and completion reports

  • Provide project coordination support across L&D initiatives, keeping timelines, actions and documentation on track

This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role where attention to detail, proactive communication and reliable follow-through are essential. You’ll play a key role in creating a seamless learner experience while ensuring we remain audit-ready and operationally aligned.

What will you bring to the team?

You’re someone who takes pride in being organised, accurate and dependable. You enjoy supporting others, juggling multiple priorities and finding practical ways to improve processes.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating programs, events or operational schedules

  • Confidence using business systems, with LMS experience highly regarded

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to reprioritise quickly when plans change

  • A professional communication style and a service-oriented mindset

  • Comfort working with spreadsheets, reports and data to provide clear insights

  • A continuous improvement mindset and interest in streamlining workflows

  • Strong digital confidence, including curiosity about how emerging tools and AI can improve efficiency

A qualification in business administration, HR, education or a related field, or equivalent experience coordinating workforce or learning programs, is essential. Experience in hospitality, tourism or another service-based environment will be highly regarded.

What can you expect from us?

This Hobart-based role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse and dynamic hospitality group while building your capability in Learning & Development.

You’ll also enjoy:

  • Hybrid and flexible work options

  • Free onsite car parking

  • A delicious daily meal at our fully serviced staff canteen

  • Complimentary dry cleaning of work clothing

  • A range of excellent Federal Hospitality property discounts, as well as external partner discounts on everyday brands to help with the cost of living

Most importantly, you’ll join a team that values humility, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement, and that genuinely believes in leaving things better than we found them.
