About Mackey’s:

Right in the heart of Latrobe, Mackey’s Royal Hotel brings good vibes, great food, and local charm all in one spot! Whether you're craving a hearty meal in our bustling bistro, catching up with mates over drinks, or trying your luck in the gaming room, Mackey’s has something for everyone.

We’ve got 30 state-of-the-art gaming machines, a lively main bar complete with an 8-ball table, and a warm, friendly atmosphere that keeps locals and visitors coming back.

What you can expect in a day in this role:

Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and under the supervision of the Head Chef, you will be responsible for a variety of culinary tasks, including but not limited to:

• Food Preparation
• Upholding food health and safety compliance
• General cleaning and maintenance
• Menu Planning
• Working across all areas of the kitchen

What you will bring to the role: 

Successful candidates will have a trade qualification (Cert III in Commercial Cookery) alongside:

• A passion for food, coupled with a dedication to providing exceptional service
• Previous experience in pub/bistro-style dining (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Enthusiasm and commitment
• The ability to work under pressure and multitask
• Reliability and flexibility, with a commitment to working a variety of shifts, including day, night, and weekend shifts.
