About Federal Hospitality:

Working in one of Tasmania’s most stunning locations, on the waterfront just outside the Hobart CBD at Wrest Point, you will join our motivated and experienced Finance team.   

Federal Hospitality encompasses a wide group of impressive brands including MACq 01 Hotel, Henry Jones Art Hotel, Saffire Freycinet, Wrest Point Casino, Country Club Tasmania and 12 community hotels under the Vantage Group.

What can you expect from a day in this role?  

Our Commercial Manager supports the Head of Finance & Commercial – Federal Hospitality in progressing strategic projects, business improvement initiatives and commercial priorities across the Federal Hospitality portfolio. Working in partnership with operational leaders, Finance Manager, Finance Business Partners and other key stakeholders, the role provides commercial insight, financial analysis and modelling to support informed decision making. Our Commercial Manager is responsible for the following, but not limited to: 

• Act as the Finance and Commercial representative on key projects and business initiatives across the Federal Hospitality portfolio. 

• Support the evaluation of opportunities and investment decisions through business case development, financial modelling, scenario analysis and commercial assessment. 

• Provide commercial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decision making across the Hospitality portfolio. Identifies opportunities to improve business performance and supports the evaluation of initiatives through financial analysis, modelling and scenario assessment.  

• Partner with operational leaders and Finance Business Partners to provide commercial recommendations that are practical, data-driven and aligned with business priorities. 

What will you bring to the role?  

Bring your extensive experience in Commercial Management to our Federal Hospitality team.  To succeed in this role, you will have:  

• Bachelors Degree in Commerce (or similar, coupled with a CA or CPA membership 

• Commercial background within medium to large scale organisation with multiple operations 

• Demonstrated ability to take a commercial view, understand and research the commercial environment to influence business decisions.  

• Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse raw data and present the analysis and insights in a powerful and impactful manner.  

• Gaming and hospitality industry expertise (highly desirable)
