This is your opportunity to join a passionate kitchen team, work with exceptional Tasmanian produce and help create dining experiences that leave a lasting impression.

The best part

At the heart of the Saffire experience is an exceptional team, delivering thoughtful, intuitive service and memorable moments for our guests. In our kitchen, that means care, creativity and pride in every dish.

You can expect:

  • Live and work on Tasmania’s stunning east coast, surrounded by beaches, national parks, wineries and wildlife
  • Access subsidised, fully furnished staff accommodation
  • Enjoy complimentary staff meals while on shift
  • Work with inspiring industry mentors and a supportive kitchen brigade
  • Be part of Tasmania’s largest hospitality and tourism group, with genuine career pathways across Federal Hospitality and Federal Group
  • Work in a globally awarded luxury lodge, proudly showcasing Tasmania to the world

About the role

As a Chef de Partie, you’ll play an important role in delivering memorable dining experiences for our guests. Working closely with the kitchen brigade, you’ll help maintain high standards, contribute to a positive team culture and support the delivery of seasonal menus that showcase Tasmania’s renowned produce.

At Saffire, our menus evolve regularly and are shaped by the season, the produce and the guest experience, creating a dynamic and rewarding environment for passionate chefs.

You will:

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes that reflect Saffire’s luxury standards
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs and broader kitchen team
  • Support the smooth running of your section during service
  • Contribute to menu execution, preparation and daily kitchen operations
  • Maintain strong food safety, hygiene and kitchen presentation standards
  • Bring energy, care and consistency to every shift
  • Support and work collaboratively with the team to create exceptional guest experiences

You’re someone who:

  • Has previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar level role
  • Has experience in a premium, fine dining, luxury lodge or similar environment
  • Has a genuine passion for food, local produce and creating memorable dining experiences
  • Brings professionalism, reliability and attention to detail
  • Enjoys working as part of a close-knit, high-performing kitchen team
  • Is flexible and comfortable working across a range of shifts
  • Is keen to keep learning, developing and improving
  • Holds a current driver’s licence and has reliable transport, due to the location
  • Is available to work from August/September through to March as part of our peak season team

More than just a job

At Saffire, you’re not just stepping into a role, you’re becoming part of a team and a community. We offer an environment where people can learn, grow and take pride in what they do and where they live.

This role is based in a beautiful remote Tasmanian location, while still being around a two-hour drive from Hobart and Launceston. Our team also has access to Wi-Fi, gym and entertainment facilities at the employee accommodation site, along with a complimentary meal while on shift.

You’ll also receive access to hundreds of discounts across many brands, helping you save on everyday expenses including bills, fuel, groceries, fashion, restaurants and entertainment.
