What you can expect in a day in this role:

In this fast-paced and exciting kitchen environment, you will be supported by a close-knit team while taking ownership of your section and helping deliver memorable dining experiences for our guests. In this role, you will also:

  • Lead the smooth running of your section, preparing high-quality dishes to recipe and menu standards.
  • Support service by checking quality and consistency before, during and after each shift.
  • Guide, assist and motivate junior kitchen team members, including cooks, commis and demi chefs.
  • Manage portion control, stock rotation and waste reduction while keeping your station organised and ready for service.
  • Maintain strong food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards across your area.
  • Work closely with the Executive Sous Chef and broader kitchen team to deliver a consistent experience.

What you will bring to the role:

With a team-focused approach, a positive attitude and a passion for high-quality food, you will bring the confidence to support others and contribute to a safe, organised and collaborative kitchen. You will also have:

  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting junior team members, with supervisory experience highly regarded.
  • Strong planning, organisation and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise during busy service periods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing consistently high-quality food.
  • A safety-first mindset, with sound knowledge of hygiene standards, procedures and safe work practices.
  • A positive, team-focused approach and the confidence to communicate clearly with colleagues across the kitchen and venue.
