About The Waterfront Hotel:   

Situated on the picturesque Kangaroo Bay Marina in Bellerive, The Waterfront Hotel offers a true waterfront dining and entertainment experience. The bistro is renowned for its unique setting and quality local produce, with a strong emphasis on Tasmanian seafood. During the week, the C-bar is the perfect spot for a quiet drink with friends, a light meal, or coffee. On weekends, our locals come to enjoy live music in the evening and Sunday sessions in an al fresco setting. Our focus is on delivering a quality experience in every aspect, from food and drink to entertainment.

What you can expect in a day in this role:  

We are looking for a positive, confident, and passionate qualified Chef to join their team on a Casual Basis. Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and under the supervision of the Head Chef, you will be responsible for a variety of culinary tasks, including but not limited to: 

• Food preparation whilst upholding food health and safety compliance 
• Assisting with cost management , inventory and ordering
• General cleaning and maintenance  of the kitchen areas
• Menu planning  alongside the Kitchen team

What You will bring to the role: 

Successful candidates will have a trade qualification (Cert III in Commercial Cookery) alongside: 

• A passion for food, coupled with a dedication to providing exceptional service 
• Previous experience in pub/bistro-style dining (preferred but not essential) 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills  coupled with enthusiasm and commitment  to excellence
• The ability to work under pressure and multitask  in a busy environment
• Reliability and flexibility, with a commitment to working a variety of shifts, including day, night, and weekend shifts. 

An appointee to this role may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks.
