Showcasing the state's finest produce, our menus celebrate local growers, fishers and producers through creative, produce-led cooking that combines classic techniques with modern flavours.

What you can expect in a day in this role:

As a Casual Commis Chef, you'll prepare a range of dishes using Tasmania's finest produce and freshest local ingredients while working alongside our talented culinary team at Old Wharf Restaurant. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills in a premium waterfront dining environment, gaining hands-on experience with contemporary Tasmanian cuisine, modern cooking techniques, and high-quality service standards while building your career with one of Tasmania's leading hospitality groups.

What you will bring to the role:

• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, ideally within a hotel, restaurant or premium hospitality venue
• Strong knowledge of quality produce, food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
• A passion for creating exceptional food and memorable dining experiences for guests
• Ability to work confidently across a range of kitchen sections while maintaining high standards during busy service periods
• A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute positively to a high-performing kitchen team
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements
• Full Australian working rights and availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays
