About Waterfront Hotel:

Situated on the picturesque Kangaroo Bay Marina in Bellerive, The Waterfront Hotel offers a true waterfront experience. The bistro is renowned for its unique setting and quality local produce, with a strong emphasis on Tasmanian seafood. During the week, the C-bar is the perfect spot for a quiet drink with friends, a light meal, or coffee. On weekends, our locals come to enjoy live music in the evening and Sunday sessions in an al fresco setting. Our focus is on delivering a quality experience in every aspect, from food and drink to entertainment.

 

What you can expect in a day in the role:

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will be expected to be hands-on with the daily operations, including gaming, accommodation, food and beverage across the Hotel. You’ll lead and manage a close-knit team during your shift, always ensuring exceptional customer service while fostering strong relationships within the community. 

Your duties will include, but not limited to; 

  • Lead the on-shift team to provide memorable customer service and experience
  • Ensure health, safety, gaming and hotel operations procedures are followed 
  • Assist with staff scheduling and break management in coordination with the Hotel Manager 
  • Assisting with handling complaints and issues, as required 

 

What you will bring to the role:

  • Experience bar and gaming position within the hospitality industry or a related industry
  • Demonstrated practical experience in the delivery of quality customer service, preferably in the areas of food and beverage and gaming.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and cooperate with co-workers
  • Well-rounded, current gaming knowledge, and applied knowledge of relevant legislation/regulations applicable to the hospitality industry
  • Availability and flexibility to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays
  • Current Tasmanian recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and current Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RCG) Certificates, or the ability to obtain.
