About The Newstead Hotel:
Located 5 minutes from the heart of Launceston and built in the 1850’s The Newstead Hotel has become an iconic venue in the city. With a sensational Bistro and adjoining kids room the hotel is equipped with 2 bars and over 30 Electronic gaming machines, keno, and function rooms.
What you can expect in a day in this role:
In our fast-paced kitchen, you'll be part of a superstar team serving up mouthwatering dishes. Led by our Head Chef, you'll bring flavour, speed, and fun to every plate—creating delicious moments, one bite at a time!
Some of your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Food Preparation along with using grills and deep fryers
Preparing made-to-order meals, keeping them tasty with precision and speed
Uphold food health and safety compliance, keep it fresh and safe
General cleaning and maintenance
Working across all areas of the kitchen
What you will bring to the role:
Successful candidates will have a trade qualification (Cert III in Commercial Cookery) alongside:
A passion for food, coupled with a dedication to providing exceptional service
Previous experience in pub/bistro-style dining (preferred but not essential)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Enthusiasm and commitment
The ability to work under pressure and multitask
Reliability and flexibility, with a commitment to working a variety of shifts, including day, night, and weekend shifts.
Please note to be successful in this role you need to be able to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays.
A successful candidate in this role may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks.
