Nestled in the heart of the historic Hobart waterfront, you will find MACq 01 Hotel and the Henry Jones Art Hotel; a Federal Group luxury collection that combines premium accommodation with immersive, unforgettable experiences. You will have the unique opportunity to work across three of Hobart’s most iconic venues: Evolve Spirits Bar and Story Bar, both located within the award-winning MACq 01 Hotel, and the IXL Long Bar at the historic Henry Jones Art Hotel.
Each venue offers a distinct experience, from the refined elegance and rare spirits collection of Evolve, to the relaxed storytelling atmosphere of Story Bar, and the vibrant energy and creativity of the IXL Long Bar. This role provides variety, challenge, and the chance to develop your skills in a fast-paced, high-quality bar environment.
You’ll be part of a passionate team focused on delivering outstanding guest experiences, crafting premium cocktails, and showcasing Tasmania’s finest local produce and spirits.
What you can expect in a day in this role:
As a Team Leader, you'll work across three of Hobart’s most renowned venues: Evolve Spirits Bar and Story Bar at MACq 01 Hotel, and the IXL Long Bar at the Henry Jones Art Hotel.
Your day will involve leading by example on the floor, delivering exceptional food and beverage service while supporting and motivating your team. You'll use your strong organisational skills, initiative, and interpersonal strengths to ensure smooth operations and a consistently high standard of guest experience.
You'll provide hands-on support and guidance to staff, contributing to training and development while fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
Whether it’s crafting premium cocktails, sharing knowledge of Tasmania’s finest local produce and spirits, or stepping in to elevate service during peak times, you'll play a key role in creating memorable moments for our guests.
What you will bring to the role:
• Experience in a fast-paced and well-respected bar venue,
• Strong product knowledge across local, national and international spirits,
• Foster team development and positive culture through strong leadership,
• Have a passion for the industry and maintain a connection to a broader bar network,
• Manage front of house service by developing and maintaining a motivated, valued and highly guest-focused team,
• Oversee quality of service and outlet presentation, to ensure the highest standards at all times,
• Manage compliance with standard operating procedures, relevant policy and,
• Obtain a genuine passion for taking the lead on creating interactive and unforgettable guest experiences.
